Informative, well researched and interesting February 26, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am currently at 19 weeks of my first pregnancy and am finding this book a wonderful asset. The first trimester is full of description of all the changes that are going on inside with out my even knowing. The second trimester, there are fewer changes going on with baby and more with Mom. There are important tidbits of information including; nutrition and saving your back, cross-cultural examples of childbirth and pregnancy and proverbs and quotes which will make you reflect. All of this and it's a journal, but not one with blank empty pages that you have to fill in even when you're not feeling anything particularly different. A few lines here and a few lines there. Even the information is not too much to digest at a time, allowing you to miss a few days and not be overloaded with catching up. A plus for busy Mom's and Dad's who are trying to get as much information as possible without having to read the encyclopedic books on pregnancy and birth.
EXCELLENT , I read this every day.. May 20, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
A great day by day account of what;s happening inside, with space to record how I feel and what my own body is going through- so I can remember for the next time! I loved the excerpts on what goes on in other cultures surrounding a poregnant woamn, the birth, motherhood & fatherhood.
Very disappointing. April 5, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used the Anne Geddins Pregnancy Journal for my first pregnancy and was looking for something a little different for my second pregnancy. I was very disappointed in this title as it is purely a "journal" (ie blank pages with no prompts). The Anne Geddins Pregnancy Journal prompts you on each page with questions about the pregnancy which I found easy to answer and it made writing in it easy for me.
Wonderfully informative, lighthearted and interactive. August 22, 2000 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I received this as a gift for my 1st pregnancy and used it every night. It's very informative about what is going on with your pregnancy on a day-to-day basis. It allows you to keep notes about how you feel, your weight, dr. appt's. etc. I bought one for my 2nd preg. and it was great to be able to compare notes from the 1st. It's a great gift for a newly preg. friend or for yourself - I just found out a friend is preggo - so I'm sending her a copy right now!
