I liked the fact that you can help your child without going to the doctors, but what really ruined it for me was that the author advocated the use of whiskey in babies bottles- NOT the best way to go
Excellent Book. I give my patients a copy. May 27, 1999 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
I am a chiropractor who believes supremely in natural health. I present each new parent or expecting mother with a complimentary copy of this book. It is a collection of excellent thoughts on healthy children and how to raise children to be healthy. Strongly recommend it to all young adults who have, or are going to have, children.
Shocking! March 3, 1999 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have just finished reading this book. I have a nine year old and a nine month old child. I just cured my nine month old's 10th ear infection without the horrible side effects of the antibiotics from the previous nine. I grew up in a world of medicine and I am shocked to find that it is usually unneccessary. I am also terrified to continue with my daughter's vaccinations. I only hope that more parents find this book and start taking control over their child's health.
This is a book I wish my parents had known. December 7, 1997 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you felt suspicious of certain doctor's practices, You may have been right all along. Dr. Mendelsohn does a very thorough job of exposing questionable practices and needless risks and why these are still around. His true greatness shines when he admits to his own doctoring business as usual and how he himself learned to do more with less (drugs, that is). In clear words he tells how much diagnostic value parental observation actually has and when to see a doctor urgently. If you have children or if you foresee to create bodies for them, or if you just know someone who would benefit from healthy advice, learn more and enjoy this classic. A true gift.
Great medical advice if you hate going to the doctor. August 29, 1996 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
Dr. Mendelsohn is a pediatrician with great qualifications. His advice frees parents from taking their child to the doctor for every runny nose and fever. Way too many doctors listen to the symptoms and pull out their prescription pad for yet another round of pink liquids. Dr. Mendelsohn gives solid, down-to-earth advice parents can trust! A must read for any parent who doesn't want to feed their kids a regular diet of antibiotics. Also good anti-vaccination information.
